Smile Tokyo Cat Cafe

Cats for people who can't keep cats: Tokyo's Cat Cafe - video | Travel | guardian.co.uk

Not sure our cats would be as tolerant and friendly as those lot are...

Re: Tokyo Cat Cafe

Is this the one that Karl Pilkington visited on An Idiot Abroad 2????

If so, I was well impressed.

Although, I can't see it catching on in the UK.

Re: Tokyo Cat Cafe

I think I read about that in a book I had for christmas. There's also a shop where you can pay to give a dog a walk.

Re: Tokyo Cat Cafe

This one: Karl Pilkington - Cat Cafe - YouTube ? Looks like the Japanese are keen on the Cat Cafe idea as this one's in Osaka. It would be one way for rescues to make some money to support themselves, with the friendlier cats anyway.

I don't think this is in anyway related but I found this too: http://www.wspa.org.uk/Images/catcaf..._tcm9-2733.pdf

Seems to be UK based (and hard to read upside down)

Re: Tokyo Cat Cafe

It is a good solution in a country where pets are not allowed in many homes. The cats have a wonderful home, and the people have a lovely way to relax with lovely pets they would love to have at home but can't.

It's a bit like us going to the zoo or a safari park....
Though I must admit I would pay a visit, too, if I was in the neighbourhood....

Re: Tokyo Cat Cafe

If you want to care for a cat but can't have one, I suppose that volunteering in a shelter would be a cheaper and kinder way to do so!
