Can cats catch colds from us?
Hi not really posted much before but wanted to ask what I hope is not too stupid a question. Both my cats are very affectionate coming face to face with me giving kisses and nose presses and lots of snuggles.
I have come down with a bad cold and wondering if I should try keeping my distance from them so they don't catch it too? Thanks Jo, Jessie and DeeJay x |

Re: Can cats catch colds from us?
As far as I'm aware they can't catch our colds

I've heard of eye infections and of course ringworm being passed between cats and humans ( both ways) but never colds.

Re: Can cats catch colds from us?
I have been told that they don't catch our colds, but it seems odd to me that when we are sneezing and snotty, at least one of ours starts to sneeze as well, and goes off their food.
The only reason I can think of is that we have brought in more than one virus and one of them is a catty one.
