Re: I feel like a big meany

In our case, we got Oslo, (then 8 weeks), first and 4 weeks later we bought Odin home. We set Odin in the carrier down in the room we were keeping Oslo and let them at it. After a bit of sniffing (and hissing/growling), we opened the carrier - Oslo kept going up to Odin (who although only 2 weeks older was a lot bigger) for a sniff and to say hello and Odin just hissed and moved away. Oslo persisted, and in the end I think Odin just went "Fine whatever hello - now will you bugger off and leave me alone". By the next day they were happily snuggled together.

Bear in mind that had the introductions not gone so smoothly, (and had there not been almost 24/7 supervision available), I would have been moving one of the cats to another room to try things more slowly.

i would let them out together under my strict supervision, and they were happy to eat next to each other. i was worried sick about Freddy hurting her, but after gradually letting them out together for longer periods of time they were quite happy they are constantly play fighting now - but Tilly holds her own and there's been no injuries. phew!

3 weeks down the line and they are best friends i've attached a pic for you.

she's so funny now - whenever Freddy tries to groom her she's always trying to wiggle around to get to him so she can do it too! lol

Re: I feel like a big meany

I was lucky with Frankie and Sebastian they got on well near enough straight away After reading the introduction threads on here I planned on doing it slowly. As Seb had his first vaccs and had a clean bill of health when we got him, he was so relaxed and made himself at home after a couple of hours, I decided to introduce them the same day.

There was some hissing and arched backs from both, then sniffing and nose touching the hissing only lasted a couple of days. When they were together I always supervised. I now feel happy to leave them alone together. Frankie is 7 yo and Seb 6 months and they get on like a house on fire, well when Seb isn't tormenting Frank They chase each other, play and wrestle, there is never any hissing or growling from them, even though fur does sometimes fly

All cats/kittens are different and it may take longer for them to get on. At first I thought I may have issues because of the age difference but Frank likes other cats and it's the best thing I have done for Frank adopting Seb, it has made him a more relaxed, homely and happy boy and Seb loves him to bits

Hope all goes well at the vets on Friday with Tinks and with the intro's Keep us updated.
