Funny story

i gave the boys their first chicken wings today, lightning took an interest straight away
Shadow arched his back, hissed and ran away from it
i found it hilarious, he really is the definition of a scardy cat lol

Re: Funny story

Have they been eating any other raw bits? I'm in the process of changing mine over to an all raw diet. Haven't tried anything big yet - apart from a thawed mouse which they didn't know what to do with and the chickens stole it
How did you go about it, did you just put it down and let them explore it? I'm excited to receive my first full delivery this Friday

Re: Funny story

I'm glad to read I'm not the only one with a cat that likes his food cooked.I tried my Raggie with a chicken wing and the look he gave it should have cooked it on the spot.He had absolutely no intention of touching it,never mind eating it

nope first time, dont think they will want it again tho
i just put the wings infront of them, shadow was terrified and is actually still hiding, so dont think he will be wanting a chickeen n wing again, lightning sniffed it and walked away, then came back but dont think he realised he could eat it, so cut a bit off which he just spat back out his mouth, but didnt try eat the chicken wing himself, they have stole cooked chicken wings right of my plate before today so i thought the raw would at least interest them but not really, i was only really giving it for the teeth cleaning side of it, Might try it again one time but today was not a success lol,

Re: Funny story

Mine will eat raw chunks, but when I gave them chicken wings, they played a bit, nibbled a bit but certainly didn't eat them

Mcsquirtle - you've made me laugh with the chickens stealing the mouse Glad it's not just mine that do that!! Thomas (RIP) used to catch mice and leave them at the door of the coop for them
notsure likes this.

Mine are all accepting chunks too not sure what they will make of bigger items. I left the mouse on the patio for the cats to explore and my hens kept sprinting at it trying to get it! I lured them back in their coop with some meal worms but once the cats lost interest they got the mouse. My husband said it was wrong and I'm not to let them have a mouse again! I said he'll taste the difference in the eggs. Plus, it gave them some entertainment for a couple of hours!

Re: Funny story

When I first gave Seb a chicken wing he just threw it around, pounced on it, made chirping sounds and gave it a few licks

The next time, I gave the wing a bit of a beating, took the skin off and sliced in to the meat, he ate most of the meat and chewed on the bones, but didn't eat them, the more I give them to him the more of the bones he eats

Frankie eats it all

Re: Funny story

Dont want to sound like a thicko but do you just buy the chicken wings from supermarkets and give them to the cats raw? Can they have them at any age?
Thanks!

Re: Funny story

My Suki loves raw chicken, she would munch it all if she could. On the other hand, Lilah doesn't seem as interested. She might lick the meat but doesn't eat
