K337 will become famous soon enough
Re: Why do people not understand...

Yeah, I've been checking it out recently and NZ now requires a 10 day stay. So that would mean 10 days in NZ cattery then 6 months in NZ and then onto Australia. One of my boys is terrible in a cattery (unless its the one at his breeders) so I'm considering it as an alternative...

You are lucky that you don't have to vaccinate against rabies. At the moment it means another shot for the cats plus at least 6 months advanced planning to make sure they only have to spend 30 days in quarantine and not more

I've always budgeted for them to come back with me, although I was a bit apprehensive at the cost. I recently got a quote and was surprised at how cheap it was! I was thinking it would be about 3k per cat

I was finally brave enough to get a quote last week too - and it wasn't that bad, although if I can get an airline to deal with me directly (some don't) I may just sort it all myself - especially as I want the cats on the same flights I'm on (figured that way if there are any problems along the way I'd be right there). The hardest part will be the first part of the trip - as flying from here via Copenhagen & Singapore means leaving home at 4/5am which means the boys will have to be sealed in their crates the night before.

Re: Why do people not understand...

I get asked the same thing all the time, my cousin asked me last night Why I gave up a house for a cat as apparently my babies are just cats, I asked her when she was getting rid of her 5 year old son as he is just a kid, she shut up after that
