Egyptian Maus, anyone?

I have an Egyptian Mau, and I've never met anyone else who does. I absolutely love the breed; love their temperament and the speed at which they do everything makes me laugh!

Any other Mau fans here? Mine's 11, and a black smoke.

Re: Egyptian Maus, anyone?

If you look at my flickr link, and Nyx, you'll see pics of our mau/coon.

She has the look of the mau, but the build of the coon. She has the speed of the mau...especially with Kenzie pup chasing her and loves water, like both the mau and coon, we have the cleanest utility wall due to her constantly flicking the water up it [she has also managed to wreck the non tip water bowl by bashing the balance plate on top!]. She is very, very vocal and loud with it. We get a running commentary as she belts round the house. Now we have Kenzie, she no longer preys on our dear elderly rough, who she was convinced was the biggest interactive toy ever invented [well why else would we have a dog with a feathery tail and legs?!?] Now she has a smaller, faster, less feathery version that never runs out of batteries!!

Her favorite place to come and get a cuddle is partially on my shoulder, with the rest of herself on my chest.....you try watching the telly or using your laptop with a 5kg silver lump plonked in the middle of your vision .

When we went to collect her, we saw the breeders family of maus, and they were stunning. Nyx's dad was also there [he was only 11 months when we saw him and huuuuugggggee]. He got neutered.....not long after the breeders noticed one of their queens was getting rather round. When the kittens were born, they worked out the dates and it appears that Samson [name of the coon] had his strength cut a week too late!

Re: Egyptian Maus, anyone?

I love them and have considered getting two before Ideally wanted a silver and a bronze but love the smoke as well.

Ended up with two Ocicat terrors instead They sound very similar; bolting around the house, being vocal and showing off their beautiful spots.

Re: Egyptian Maus, anyone?

I hope this works! I don't have a great picture of him on this laptop - you can't really see his markings very well here but it's a very rare photo of him actually sitting still!
