Re: male/female traits

My lot are the soppiest cats you'd ever come across, and the kittens were just big piles of cuddle, but I have to say that the boys were much soppier than the girls. I've always said that I'll keep a male neuter for precisely that reason. They just make for better cuddlers.

I can vouch for this!!! Manny is the soppiest cat you could ever wish for! When he wants a cuddle, he gets a cuddle ... no matter what!! He will just plonk himself down on top of you and wont move until he gets what he wants

Molly also loves a good cuddle, but is also the most moody little git going at times

Re: male/female traits

I've got two boys and a girl. All very different personalities. When I got the first male, a friend of mine said that males are more affectionate. However, because we got Oscar soon after Dexter I think they were more bothered about each other. Dexter is a big silly, loves a fuss but is a 'sit next to you cat' rather than a lap cat. Oscar is affectionate out of the house but does more face marking and rubbing, isn't too keen on strokes.
Lola, she's the most affectionate of the lot - although this might be a lot to do with her age. She likes to sit as close to my face as possible and is a serious purrer! She is however, more vocal and highly strung too. She's feisty and its a pain when I need to pin her down for anything - whereas the boys are placid and have never shown any aggression towards me.
All three of my cats started life in less than ideal circumstances, all dumped and separated from their mothers far too early and I think this has had a different affect on them all.

Re: male/female traits

I am looking forward to Jumpy being neutered in a few weeks, as he can be a really feisty little boy!!

Last night I came out of the bathroom and he was lying on the landing, happily contemplating exploring the bathroom, so I quickly secured the door hook, as it's not really a safe place for him to go - and this caused him to make a very cross meow!! He will be telling us what to do soon if we're not careful.... but he's sooo funny!!!

Re: male/female traits

Jenny, does she still hate Manny, or has she realised that he's still the same cat again?

Oh, and I needed to talk to you about him. Nothing wrong, so don't panic, but I'll drop you an email when I get home form work.

Re: male/female traits

Girl cat is laid back (she's has kittens though), she does show a lot of feeling though.

Boy kitty wants to be in your face all the time. Is vocal when you are waking up and when going in the bathroom and closing the door behind you.
