Fabulous freebie toys

Had fun this weekend making a playhouse for the kittens. Used a meduim sized cardboard box and taped up all the flaps. Then.....please don't call me sad........cut a couple of doors and windows (some with shutters)

The kittens (Poppy & Lily) absolutely love it and race right though the front door and out the back. Then playfight by boxing each other though the windows.

Also saved the outer wrapping from a multipack bag of crisps. This caused so much excitment too. We all had to have a lie down after that!

Thumbs up Re: Fabulous freebie toys

That's a fantastic idea! I might give something like that a go on Christmas Day if there are any big boxes about.

Re: Fabulous freebie toys

Ah, That's nothing! I'm a cardboard box master! years ago I made a 3 story fort out of two big boxes and some large bore card pipe. I even made a sun lounge on the top level. It is so funny to watch kittens popping in and out of every hole, or sometimes just a paw come flying out if you pass too close!

Unfortunately the wife didn't agree... But the fort is still in the barn somewhere. I might dig it out when Dexter arrives on the 26th!

That's a very good idea. It's usually the way, you pay out for all these toys and they end up preferring the things that cost nothing. One of my kittens favourite toys is a scrunched up ball of paper. He is in his element and loves to play fetch....typical....lol

My kitten loves table tennis balls and never stops chasing them around. They cost about 32p each and last until she looses them around the house.I buy in half dozen packs and she always finds one somewhere.I know they are not free but they seem to last forever.

wow bet your cats thought xmas had come early!
my cat milo's fave thing to play with is caramel wrappers. I love tunnocks caramel biscuits, he loves the wrapper.. I cant even open one without him running over. He wont play with normal cat toys, except his scratching post.

Freebie seasonal toys for cats...

Spring: Bird's feathers

Summer: Daisies

Autumn: Acorns (this is a definite favourite with my kitty)

Winter: Pine cones (haven't tried this one yet, but it's supposed to be a winner)
