Splodge is getting spayed today!

took her in at 8:15 today and im ringing them this affternoon to arrange a time to collect her

Ive missed her all day!

Going to ask them some questions though when i collect her, cause when she gets back i am seperating from the other kittys in my bedroom, but not to sure how long to keep her in the bedroom for, till she can mix with the other kittys again?!

And also when can she eat, cause they told me to starve her after 8pm last night, so i bet shes very hungry :P

Looking forward to collecting her

Re: Splodge is getting spayed today!

Hi Coral

Milly and Tilly were spayed yesterday.

Have a look at my Thread They are at the vets now which shows after pics.

Good luck I know how worrying it is.

Think you'll be more stressed than Splodge, basically though I would go with what the cat wants, mine certainly didn't want to sleep in their carrier!!!

Re: Splodge is getting spayed today!

If she's anything like our boys (and Blake had a reascended testicle, so he got the "girl" op and the "boy" op all at the same time), she'll be hungry and a little groggy for a bit, then she'll be zinging around the house the next day like nothing ever happened, much to your worry about popped stiches.

The weird thing is the vet checked him twice when he was in for jabs, and both of them were down. Then when they went to shave him for the neuter, they called me to say he only had one . Talk about worry! So, they shaved belly to tail, snipped off the well-behaved ball, then went in looking for the other one. I like to joke that it heard what was going to happen and decided to flee . He was one sore little guy, and Chaucer was just fine, having had two normal testicles for easy snippage. It took Blakey an extra day, but pretty soon he was leaping up and down the cat tree. I don't think he purred at all until the second day, though. He just sat around looking lost, confused, and sore.

Re: Splodge is getting spayed today!

Splodge is back home now, she was so happy to see me bless her
she looks pretty traumatised, and worried!

they have shaved her, and were the stitching is, shes got stained blood, which the vet said they did try to clean it up but Splodge wouldnt let them lol!

ive made a appointment with them in 2 weeks time on the monday

They havent gave her one of them special collars, they just said if she starts licking her wounds to much, then they will provide her with one.

at the moment ive left her in the bedroom, with some water, basket and litter tray.
they have gave me 4 pouches of Royal Canin Sensitivity control chicken and rice food.
gonna give her half a pouch tonight and then half of one tomorrow morning, and maybe a full pouch tomorrow night.

Im keeping her in our bedroom tonight, and i do want to keep her in our bedroom all day tomorrow, cause i feel abit nervous with the other 3 cats and dog, and i dont know wherever to keep her in our bedroom tomorrow night aswell , but is that to much :/

what do you guys think?
