Luckily, she doesn't like other cats and with there often being 4 or more here, if anything will deter her it'll be that. For all her being so small she's incredibly feisty, none of my lot will even attempt to use the flap if she's on the doorstep and will go past her like a bat out of hell when I open the door trying to avoid getting a paw swipe

I've not seen her since this morning so I'm assuming she's managed to get in at home, tho' no doubt she'll be out and about later on.

Re: Bolting thro' the flap just now.........

It seems that the local cats know a safe human to rush to heading straight for your place. im tempted to say take her to a rescue centre but they are overun. An anonymous letter to the neighbour about the situation perhaps? Poor little thing. Im getting intolerant in my old age but these people shld not be allowed to keep animals

Re: Bolting thro' the flap just now.........

Here she is making herself comfortable on the living room cabinet early yesterday evening. She went out soon after and I've not seen her since, but judging by all the commotion downstairs/flap being used atm, she's back. You can get some idea of her size compared to the calculator next to her.

Re: Bolting thro' the flap just now.........

She was in the kitchen when I got up today, blocking the flap so my lot were waiting crossed legged to get outside

At the risk of being called a nosey so'n'so, I haven't seen a light on at her home for over a week now, tho' the husband/boyfriend is coming and going to work as usual, nor have I seen the kids going to school. There's usually a huge tv on as well from early morning till late at night, something I can't help seeing when I close/open the upstairs curtains here, so I'm wondering if her owner is actually there atm.

Ian, couldn't you go and have a look? If they've left her and you don't really want her, then I'd be thinking cat rescue before she gets into a rubbish condition. Doesn't sound like she's doing your lot any favours either, so it could do with being sorted, really.

Your house is like a 'safe house' for her.

Had it crossed your mind at all that you might keep her?

Her so called owners don't seem to be bothered where she is or what she does or even if she is alright or in any danger.

I bet she is so grateful for your cat flap.

Re: Bolting thro' the flap just now.........

When I bought my 2 litter mates Freddie and Billy (april 2010) the lady selling them had 2 x queens (Siamese and a Devon Rex) and an unneutered Tom Siamese. The cats were all well looked after and were house cats, had the free run of the house. The kittens were a bit nervous but soon blossomed in to the most beautiful loving cats. I often read through the adverts online and noticed litter after litter were being advertised! Basically each time one of the females came into season they were mated by the Tom as they couldnt get away! Within 20 months the Devon Rex had had 4 litters! and now she has bought a Devon rex stud!! As much as I love my cats I wish Id never given her my money!! I actually emailed to tell her it wasnt fair to the poor cats!

I *could* but would rather not tbh. There was a similar situation early last year when the only person I saw for some time was the hubby/boyfriend, but she and the kids were still there. If she has a job now, it may be why I'm not seeing her.

As much as I feel sorry for the little tabby, it's their other cat who gets most of my sympathy as I keep seeing him go home but be unable to get in, he turns round and eventually ends up here as he's been sneaking in, mainly at night, for ages. That he'll brave coming face to face with both #3 cat, Max and Stripey Tail shows how desperate for shelter he must be as those two hate the sight of him.

They're in rented property but if they've asked but been refused permission to fit a flap it would explain things.

Not a safe house as she seldom uses the flap except in desperation to get away from all the toms when she's in season, she stays on the doorstep otherwise.

There's no chance at all of my keeping her.

Having spoken to her owner there's no doubt she's a cat person, but not to the level most/all members here are.

She's more grateful for the food I give her, which isn't a lot, but I refuse to let her go hungry.

Re: Bolting thro' the flap just now.........

I'm pleased to say there's signs of life again across the road, at least the tv was on first thing today. That's not to say this cat's in the house, but at least there's somebody there to let her in now.
