Re: soooooooooooooo happy

great news, really pleased for you, your friend and the kitty. As for dogs, if the dogs are fine with cats the cat will eventually get used to it and probably establish a dominant position over the dogs in time.
Unless the dogs are sight hounds i think it will work out fine. I guess even sight hounds can be trained to get along with cats but it's pretty difficult to teach anything to them after theyve fixated on moving prey. (in my experience)

YYyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!

You must have heard me scream all the way from Holland.......
This is the most wonderful news. This way the princess gets a true chance, with someone who has the knowledge and patience to help her.

This is just too good to be true. I am so happy for you - AND for the princess....

Re: soooooooooooooo happy

Jiskefet, I know how u feel, I still canīt stop smilling. I had asked most people I knew and I felt she would say yes if no one else wanted (because of her dogs) so I asked again and she said yes. She must have seen the desperation on my face. Also she is one of my volunteer group at the shelter, a very good friend and a colleague, so I coudnīt have picked anyone better.

I think they are abandoned race hounds, not sure though. She has a ferret and two of the dogs respect her a lot, the other one is another story.

Re: soooooooooooooo happy

So glad that you've found her a new home, you and your friend have done a brilliant thing. I hope it doesn't take long for her to settle in.

Re: soooooooooooooo happy

First well done for finding a home for this cat, the only advice I can give is be prepared for it to take a considerable amount of time (and positive reinforcement) both until she will be happy to be near humans, and again with the dogs.

I know, she is completely wild. She was taken into the shelter because someone was poisoning them in the area where a lady used to feed them. Good thing they are giving us the very big cage at the shelter. So she can have a safe place inside her room, the plan is little by little to get her used to one personīs presence (my friend) and see if she wants to leave the cage, she will be in a room on her own with the door closed so the dogs canīt get at her.
