Re: Introducing Sybil and Freckle

Freckle has his 'fortress of solitude' which is the storage space up high in our room where we shove all the spare duvets, pillows, christmas tree etc. It's always been his favourite spot to camp during the day and Bloo is allowed on the condition that he sleeps and doesn't run a muck. Freckle can also jump onto a tall wardrobe and bird watch out the window from his fortress if he isn't feeling sleepy.

Little Sybil is much to small to make the jump She can't even get on the kitchen benches yet, although I'm sure it's only a matter of time

Re: Introducing Sybil and Freckle

Early this morning I got out of bed and noticed Sybil had curled up close to Bloo, not quite touching. When I came back to bed both moved over to accommodate my legs. Bloo stretched out and used Sybil's tail as a pillow! She seemed quite pleased until 10 minutes later he started sneezing! Guess all that curly fur must tickle his nose

And Freckle is more inclined to utter an upset meow at her now than hiss or growl. He does however enjoy having a sniff if he thinks it's one way. Playing with a toy near her or eating near her is accomplished without a second thought

Re: Introducing Sybil and Freckle

So took Sybil to our regular vet today and didn't think there would be a problem as we were only gone 30min. Came back and let her out of the carrier and Bloo gave her a few licks!!!

Freckle came over, gave her a sniff and then started hissing and swiping. I'd forgotten that Freckle is very sensitive about smells he doesn't like - including our vet it seems

No-one is getting much sleep here either as Sybil has started her first call so we will probably have cranky Freckle for some time yet. I doubt he will improve when she returns from a spay...

Re: Introducing Sybil and Freckle

Thanks

Much to my surprise Freckle has improved his attitude towards Sybil in leaps and bounds over the last few days. He came in for cuddles on the bed this morning and we had all three cats together

Even better, he was playing with her last night and this morning Poor Sybil got the shock of her life when 5kgs of cat came bounding out of an orange cube and tried to land on her though This morning she took it a lot better and Freckle was being a lot gentler.

I'm really pleased but now dreading the spaying even more as it will feel like even more of a setback. Who knows, maybe Freckle will surprise me
