The last time I did it, was on a concrete patio

You have to sneak slowly as close as you can, then launch.

This has to be done when you have a cat that doesn't want to come in when its dusk.

Re: Stopping new cat from escaping out the front door?

disstraact him with treats, works great with mine, but my 2 are very food obsessed and will forget whatever if i have some goodies for them, although they are afraid of the front door, i do this when im coming out of the computer room and they are waiting there trying to get in there, as this is no go zone for my crazy destructful twosome or when ur opening the door, open it a tiny bit at first to see if hes there, if so just block his way with somehting but if they have the whole house to explore then they arent really as curious about whats on the other side of the front door

If he's anything like my lot that'd just be seen as a challenge to get out then get as wet/dirty as often as possible before tramping muddy paws all over the furniture.

Re: Stopping new cat from escaping out the front door?

I don't let Bandit out the front door either as I'm only feet from the road. When coming in I crouch down to her level & block her exit & she then lets me in with any bags or shopping etc. Going out, she's pretty good, but if she's really keen to get out, I'll encourage her down the other end of the hall which is usually enough to distract her. If I'm taking rubbish out etc, I'll put her in another room while I'm doing it then let her out afterwards.
