Smile Kittens and adult food

Hi all, some of you may remember me from when i took in a 3 legged kitty!!!! she had her stump amputated In November and is fantastic and is a very happy house cat.

We have just recently taken another kitten, however, i am having problems with feeding, Pebbles our new kitty keep wanting to eat Rosies whiskers steamed/grilled fish sachets. Is she ok having these or are they two rich. She is not constipated at all, she has dry food and water at all times.

Thank you

Re: Kittens and adult food

Nice to see you back to hear that your Rosie is doing so well
There's really no reason a kitten can't have adult food - just a marketing ploy imo - but I would try and find something better than Whiskas

Re: Kittens and adult food

Whiskas has quite a low meat content and a lot of unnecessary additives Easily available I'd try something like Hi-Life or Nature's Menu. If you don't mind buying online or in bulk have a look at some of the different foods available on Zooplus - Smilla and Animondia are good ones to go for. They might seem more expensive but you won't need to feed as much
Love the photo of them together by the way

Re: Kittens and adult food

We are having a right time trying to stop new kitty eating adult kitty's food...and vice versa! And we are also on Whiskas...Not a fan of it because it is not a great food, but we are having HUGE problems getting the adult kitty to eat a consistent diet! She seems to like something for about a month....and then goes off it.... currently we are on Whiskas....but I suspect we will be moving on in a month or so!!

I would worry about it how old is the kitty?

Re: Kittens and adult food

Kitten food is often just chicken flavour, and now that my Treacle is eating better, I'm introducing some adult food flavours from the same brand to stop him getting bored!!

Re: Kittens and adult food

If you switch to a good quality wet food like Animonda, Smilla or Grau (just a few examples - there are lots!), it's fine for kittens to eat so you can feed adult and baby kitty the same thing, much easier!

My two 6 month old kittens (who were on Whiskas Kitten) are on Animonda Carny, Smilla (get both from Zooplus), Macs and Petnatur (from a German shop - I was nervous about ordering at first, but was very simple and quick!)

They're both doing really well, shiny coats, less smelly litter boxes and they always look forward to food time

I was hesitant about ordering online, but it's actually worked out easier as it's delivered right to my door!
