Talking Cat "finds me and asks for food!" :)

Might sound like a pretty normal title, but one of our cats (Lola) is a very funny little girl, every evening/night if I'm up inthe office and my girlfriend in the lounge watching TV, she'll (Lola, not my gf!) come in through the cat flap, where, to the left is her food, she'll bypass that, walk past the lounge, up to the office and Miaow at me a lot,I get up off the chair, she runs to the top of the stairs, I go to her, she runs halfway down, I go halfway, she runs to the bottom, always checking back for me, I follow her to the bottom, she runs into the kitchen next to the door, I walk to the door, she looks at me, and walks round the corner and starts eating her food!!

So adorable, so cute but I wonder if anyone else's cat does this or knows why it might be? her brother (Ben) just walks in & eats, I'm not looking to change her, its so cute, just wondering why she has to have me walk her to her food that she walked past to get to me!!

On another note, they have recently started coming in and using their tray to go toilet again, they're both 17 months old, is it just because it is cold outside? Or maybe scared off by someone whilst trying to attempt a special deliivery in their garden?

MoggyBaby likes this.

Hi and welcome to the forum
She's just saying, 'Look at me! Aren't I a good girl!' She obviously loves you
Coming in to use a litter tray may well be because they have been scared by something outside - maybe a new cat in the area or perhaps a fox.

Re: Cat "finds me and akss for food!" :)

Awww bless her that is really cute. My mum's cat does that on occasion and my Jaffe does that in the middle of the night (when I'm still awake that is). I am told that some cats prefer not to eat alone and will find their favourite hoomin and ask them to come and eat with them. It's a lovely little trait so just know she asks you because she loves you.

As for the litter tray I would of though it was because it's cold but also might be if some other cat is using their patch. It's difficult to say but as long as they aren't having accidents or having problems I wouldn't worry too much

Re: Cat "finds me and akss for food!" :)

Thanks all

Yeah they are both such amazingly lovely cats! When I get home form work Lola will snuggle & be cute and if you give Ben a little cuddle he never fails to give you a hello lick on the nose, then the fingers, then hands, then arms... We really are lucky to have such gorgeous little cats, both in appearence and personality

Will get some pics of them posted when I get home!

As for the toileting, tehy seemed to usually go on our garden, which whilst not ideal, is better than in the house! but still, hopefully when the weather warms up things will resume as normal! Only one little accident was a few weeks ago, came down in the morning and Ben was just sitting on the carpet looking a bit "cautious" (This was when they were still toiletting outside) then I went upstairs, got sorted, came down 10 mins later and he was sitting there looking guilty & embaressed next to a pile of "goods!" silly boy, gave him some cuddles, sent him out for a wee and some treats and he was fine, thankfully hasn't happened again!!

Re: Cat "finds me and akss for food!" :)

My baby Gaudi will always come and yell at me that he needs to poo, and again when he has.....

It's not that it hurts him, or that he wants his tray cleaned, he just wants me to know he's been a big boy....

He also sometimes does it when he goes to his bowl to eat. Mommy, mommy, look at me, I am going to eat.....
Mommy, mommy, I have eaten like a good boy.....

And sometimes he does it just because he wants to be answered, he wants to be acknowledged.
