Yesterday a friend of hubby's turned up with his 7yr old daughter. He immediatly went to mum and the kittens and sat down on the floor and told his daughter to do the same. I said leave mum because she is feeding but he didn't listen and continued to let his daughter pick the kittens up. He then wandered off into the lounge to hubby and left his daughter to amuse herself with the kittens. Mum has only been here 4 days and there is a risk she will either abandon them or take out her frustration on them. This realy made me angry but if i speak up i'm told to shut up Mum doesn't even know us yet let alone any visitor's. Why don't people LISTEN!! and do as they have been asked to do.

i think i would of told the child that mum needs to go to sleep now and took her by the hand and taken her out of the room, shutting the door behind me, and if she wanted to go back i would of politely said no sorry they have gone to sleep, then when they went i would of had a word with OH,

I tryed to talk to hubby when he got back from dropping his friend off and all i got was, i dont want to hear it i'm not interested. I! have kept cats for over 25yrs and have learned a lot in that time. But everytime i say anything about the cats or kittens hubby says i know nothing and i think i know more than the vets. He is saying the kittens will be ready when they are 6 weeks old wich is in around 2 weeks. I know they will get a much better start if we wait untill they are 8 weeks. I know breeders allow much longer for pedigree cats. Even CPL and RSPCA don't let them go untill 8 weeks old. If i try to argue with him to put him right he still says i know nothing and i'm stupid. It's taking me all my streangth not to swear here. Hubby's friend also shares a table with us at carboot sometimes and pockets our money when our back is turned. Hubby's mate realy makes me sick because he thinks of no one but his self. He even ripped off 1 of his sons that has a baby. He borrowed £100 and didnt pay it back.
I'll stop now or i will go on much longer. Hubby's out at footy so not looking over my shoulder so i'm able to type freely for a little while.

tut tut i not nice! well perhaps in future your OH's friends and children are not allowed ear any babys or your cats? that way tamptation isnt there and your cats your rules????

I told hubby id'e had enough of being shouted and snapped at last week and said its got to stop or he leaves. Well he packed his bags but they stayed on the hall and he is still here and is acting like nothings happened.

There is no way i'm letting them kittens go at 6 weeks. Talking of the sweet little things i will pop on my origanal thread and put an update. or start a new thread. I can talk about my cats all day long thats why i love this forum so much. Cos hubby don't want to listen. lol

dosent sound like a very nice hubby? maybe some time to think for him would be good and put things into pespective? how long have you been marryd? you shouldnt put up with being talked to like that you are worth so much more that that i really feel for you! they are YOUR babys and its understandable that you want to protect them and im sure if it were the other way you wouldnt let your friends and their kids all over his kittens??

We have been together 9yrs in may and married 8yrs in august
I don't mind anyone looking from a distance. But i want mum to feel comfortable not threatened. I put up with what hubby dishes out because i will not move out because i want to keep a warm and safe place for my cats. If i went into private i could not take my cats and that aint ever going to happened. Hubby says i think more of my cats than i do him. Well! he's right lol
