Re: Inspirational stories
Shows that cats do have 9 lifes and are fighters
![]() My vet was extremely nice and let us pay up the big vets before even thinking about paying her. We have no insurance and even if we did Tickles wouldn't have been covered but he is worth every single penny ![]()

Re: Inspirational stories
I am sure that Jumpy was a Godsend for Treacle! They are certainly inseparable now!!
![]() Treacle was born around lots of cats, so I knew he'd get on fine with them, but I never realised how lonely he must've been until Jumpy arrived. When Treacle was around 4 months, we met a tiny silver tabby kitten at the vets and Treacle didn't seem to mind him at all! I thought at the time it would be lovely to have one just like that, as he looked similar to Treacle but also different. Now we have one!!! I have always wanted a silver tabby, especially British shorthair (or partly), and that's exactly what we have!! ![]() We delayed getting another because my parents sometimes found Treacle a handful, and it could've been double trouble, plus my mum has always thought 2 cats would fight if not introduced when really tiny. But the moment Treacle smelt Jumpy when we brought him home, he got really excited and gave a trill, then spent the whole day making Jumpy feel at home! A smoother introduction than we could ever imagine!!! Now the pair of them play together until they're tired out, then sleep for a couple of hours, so it's actually MUCH easier for us to do things around the house ![]()

Re: Inspirational stories
Not my own story or cat but I've seen so many inspirational cats in my time nursing that I had to share Mavis' (Tabitha's) story.
Tabitha came into us after what appeared to be a road traffic accident, she was an approx 16-18year old moggy, who was outdoor cat that lived in the owners shed and had access to the outside world. The owners had found her and brought her in. She had a fractured pelvis and multiple deeps cuts and abrasions. They paid for the care and surgery which included daily wound cleans and the pelvis was pinned in place. Her recovery was a slow one and not once did the owners visit. We started physiotherapy to get her walking again, and she did really well for an old girl, but her owners came to see her and weren't happy with her progress. Cats who have had pelvic fractures tend to walk with abit of a swagger but can cope perfectly fine, however the owners felt she was suffering and wanted to put her to sleep, after everything she'd been though! We convinced them to sign her over to us instead, and one of our nurses took her in. She is now called Mavis and fits into their home perfectly. She can walk brilliantly and even attempts the odd jump. No one knows exactly how old she is but shes been given a lovely second chance and had a warm cozy home to spend the rest of her days in.
