Micro chipping an old and under weight cat

Hi. We have to take evie back to rescue in a couple of weeks for her routine jab and they want to chip her. I may be being over protective but she is so thin at mo i am worried it may really hurt her. She is an indoor cat so i am thinking of asking vet to wait till she has some meat on her. any comments?...

Re: Micro chipping an old and under weight cat

Do you know why she is underweight?
Injecting the chip can be painfull for cats, more so than an ordinary vacination.
As she is an indoor cat I would ask that they dont do it at this moment in time.

She was abused, tied to some gates and covered in matts (she is a long hair persian), and no fed they assume. all vet tests have come back ok. i am so the same thinking as u.
