They could pass for real brothers, but they're not! The neighbour of a friend was urgently looking to rehome him, as she had just had a baby and he would jump up at the smell of her milk, and seemed jealous of the baby! So we first met him on 23rd December, but couldn't take him home then, as we had no room with all the Christmas stuff. However, we now have space in his 'safe-room' (the kitchen), so he came home yesterday!! Treacle could not be happier to be a big brother, as he was born around lots of cats, but Jumpy spent most of yesterday growling at him!! So proud of Treacle though - he just took all the growls, made some friendly noises, then lay down to show friendliness!!

Then the boys had a lively playfight in the evening, but this morning seemed much more relaxed around one another, and kissed each other on the nose!! Just like blood brothers!!! (They had spent the night in separate rooms, of course!!)

I've discovered the answer lies in keeping Jumpy's food, water and tray in a separate room and shutting him in there for some quiet time when he wants to be alone! Works great!
Look at that Tiger nose

Re: Welcome, Jumpy!

Unlike Treacle, jumpy hates being picked up, especially if all his feet are dangling and not supported! Makes some very angry cries!! Loves to be fussed when laying flat though and purrs loudly. Definitely a British shorthair, methinks...
