Re: New maine coon cross Kitty

Hi

Don't forget a scratcher - either a cat tree (look at ones on Pet Supplies, Pet Food, and Pet Products on Sale Now at zooplus.co.uk ) or a horizontal scratcher - I bought a cheap sisal mat thingie at Wilkinsons which both of mine use to scratch on.

If Maine Coon cross (and I agree - vets have nooooo idea) then you will need a substantial vertical scratcher/ tree.

Look here for MC characteristcs - piccys:

Home Page

It is for pedigrees but also there is advice about MCs and if yours is a cross then some of the traits will be apparent.

Maine coons and Forest cats (as well as a lot of Moggy) semi longhair cats look very similar. Guess you'll know if he's a coonie if he's still growing at 3 years old
Hmmm, not sure about that like. As Lou says, it's 5 years for MC's & NFC's

Some free things you could get are cardboard boxes wuth holes cut into them and toys dangled down. The insides of toilet rolls are good too

Re: New maine coon cross Kitty

Hi,

Just reading through the post and i was wondering if the cat had the straight tufts on his ears as mine is either a cross or full maine coon(the lady did not know as her kitty had got out..bad girl) my kitty has the tufts but they dont seem as large as other maine coons and he doesnt seem to be as big a cat as i would have thought a maine coon would be.

I can also understand why you mum does not like ebay much...i used to sell on ebay and to be fair you have to watch out for genuine sellers...i find amazon is a great alternative to ebay and the sellers are more reputable as they have to be by amazon rules....there are more bargains to be had on amazon now as sellers are moving away from ebay like myself due to extortionate fees.

Anyway look at me rambling

Its nice to see you have decided to keep the lil kitty...who knows what could have happened if they was not found

I would agree with this. Toys are great but Waffles will always have more fun with a toilet roll or something silly like that No idea why unless she is trying to tell me something about the things I buy her lol
