Just an idea, but get the vet to check for a microchip when they are doing the check up. I know It would be upsetting for you to give him up so soon. But it would only be fair.

Maine coons and Forest cats (as well as a lot of Moggy) semi longhair cats look very similar. Guess you'll know if he's a coonie if he's still growing at 3 years old

Indeed. We are going to the pet shop tonight to get stuff, so far my list is

Litter Tray,
Litter
Litter tray liners,
Scoop,
Food Bowl
Food,
Collar,
Bed,

anything else i'll need?

yep we are gonna check for a chip just in case. if he is rightfully someone elses then that is where he belongs.

but no the vet won't be able to tell you x most vets have no idea about breeds , they keep cats healthy xx

good idea to get him checked though - then at least you know he's got a clean bill of health xx

If he's long haired maybe a grooming brush for him? Best getting him used to being groomed while he's still young

dont get a slikker brush, bee recomended a good brush to me yesterday which i am going to get. zoom groom i believe?
dont go over board on what you buy now tho just incase he has an owner.
