Re: Holidays and cats

This is the only hard thing to deal with when you have cats.
We do go on Holiday because we work very hard and need a break.
We use to leave our cats with our neighbour but sadly in 2009 one of our elderly cats got run over and killed in our quiet cul de sac by another neighbour.
Now it's the cattery.
I have done my home work and have managed to get them in a lovely 5 star place. The lady use to work many years with our vet and she only has 8 cabins so I don't think she's doing it for money.
The food is top class and it is FAB vetted.

I still wish they could come with me. We only go for a week at a time.

I live in Leics too and I'm not convinced by the cattery I've found - is there any way you could PM the details of yours to me? I'd be happier with a recommendation like yours. Would they let me go and have a look round? It's only for four nights and it's not until next August but it's worrying me already.

Re: Holidays and cats

I wouldn't let the animals stop me going on holiday. I think I deserve a break from things every once in a while.

Grandma looks forward to animal sitting, although she is physically unable to catch Bubbles the piggy so she may need training.

Re: Holidays and cats

My lot have their own furry godmother who will come daily and spoil them to bits. She is my cleaning lady, and she loves them to bits. They know just how to distract her from her work and steal extra cuddles. So when she comes over especially for the cats, like when we are on holiday, it is party time for them.

I will get pictures of them on my phone almost daily, when we are away, and sometimes one of the children will come along, who are just as crazy about them as we are and love to play with them with a feather or a ball... (or just sit and watch TV with a cat cuddled up on their lap.....)

I am very, very lucky, and so are my cats!!!!

Re: Holidays and cats

If we go away it's either for a long weekend and never usually longer than a week and it's not that often.

I have only ever left Frankie and always have family come to stay, even though I know he is in safe hands and well looked after, I still worry, I think I would worry even more leaving Seb, I've already got a few extra grey hairs since adopting him
