Unhappy My poor boy in the vets already :-(

Had to take Jasper to the vets yesterday as he wasn't really eating much and was sleeping a lot (I only got him Sat!). The vet said that his temp was really high so gave him something to bring it down and had to take him back today to see if it was any better. Anyway the vet said his temp was still really high and as he hasn't had his jabs they tested him for aids and leukemia Luckily they all came back clear and they think it's just a virus thing and he'll just sleep it off. It's horrible, he looks so miserable! And I have to go to work Although all he'll do is sleep, he'll probably appreciate the quiet! Anyway just thought I'd share. And how much do they charge for blood tests?!?! Couldn't believe it!! But you can't put a price on peace of mind.

Rach

Poor Jasper. Glad it's nothing too serious though and I'm sure he'll be as right as rain soon

Re: My poor boy in the vets already :-(

Hi

I had same problem with my 10 wk old kitten at the weekend, again he wasn't eating playing or drinking and just wanted to sleep, took him to emergency vets (where the costs are scandalous) on sunday night and he got a anti biotic and another one to bring his temp down. He slept all of sunday night and by monday night he was back to his usual kittie self - so try not to worry too much, let him sleep it off and he should be fine. Hope he gets better soon x

Hope he is going to be ok. Yes, Vets are expensive and prehaps you need to look into getting some insurance for peace of mind.

Poor little Jasper, I hope he feels better soon. They do worry us don't they, I have a Jasper too - a ginger tom - he was poorly sick this morning, but seems to be getting better now. Must be a Jasper thing being poorly at the moment!!! xxx

Re: My poor boy in the vets already :-(

They do worry us yes!! Poor little thing has a shaved neck too! Was going to get insurance anyway and have already looked at some quotes but didn't think I'd be at the vet quite so soon!! Gotta take him in again on Friday morn for a check up so fingers crossed he'll be bit better by then, poor love. Thanks for all your kind messages.

Re: My poor boy in the vets already :-(

Just to let you all know Jasper seems much better this morning, has been drinking a lot as was a bit dehydrated and is getting interested in food again, even had a little play. He also thought that me sweeping the floor was a great game and that I was just doing it for him to chase after the broom!! So fingers crossed he'll get the all clear from the vets tomorrow.

Rach x
