how to get blood off a cat????

my blood, flipping im so sick of drama i dont want anymore this year

i got kobi a harness today so he go for a little walk, well somehow he got he stuck on his mouth and panicked, running aound and failing around, hissing, howling and clawing my hands and legs while im trying to get it off, i was in tears, it alll happend so quick but seemed to go on forever if you know what i mean.

in the end i had to pin him down and cut it off, ive gave him treats and he went off to hide, which he never has even when he moved in, so i went and got him and he's laying in my arms now, but wont purr (hes normally a big purr'er)

anyway he has blood on him (my blood) how can i get it off, he's white.

Indeed - I'd leave him - he will clean it up and you doing it is likely to stress him more. Enjoy your cuddles, make sure you put antiseptic on YOUR wounds and take a deep breath and start the year again. No-one will notice - honest.

Re: how to get blood off a cat????

I think he should be able to get it off himself

Try not to beat yourself up too much - kitty was probably thinking "What the frack is this weird contraption my slave is trying to get on me??!! Unacceptable!!!"

I'm looking into harness training as well and I've read that you should introduce the harness veeeeeery slowly. Leave the harness in the same room as the cat for a few days so that the kitty can explore it, sniff it, play with it and get to know it. Then try and get the harness on slowly and leave it on for a while and treat the cat so that they associate it with good things, do this over a few days as well. Then again over a few days take the lead and walk the cat around the room (with treats) so they get used to you on the end of the lead and then explore the garden a bit with them so they get used to the outside, the lead and you being with them as a combination. If they ever start to look uncomfortable during any of the steps, stop immediately and try again later so they don't start associating it with bad things.

Now I haven't done this yet - but seems to be the advice given by those in the know!

EDIT: Sorry, I assumed that your kitty wasn't trained - feel free to ignore if they are!
