Scratching posts
My kitten has a cat tree at the minute with a scratching post on it but i want to get her a scratching post by itself.
I want to get something big enough for when she is bigger (she's 5 months now) Does anyone have any recommendations for me? I have seen some at 62cm is this big enough? These are the 2 i have been looking at: Parla 62cm Cat Scratcher Centre Toy: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies Espejo Cat Scratcher Activity Centre 69cm: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies anyone got anything similar? do your cats use the ledge to sit on top? I saw the perfect post on zooplus a few weeks ago on sale it was 80cm and under £20 but just my luck they must have sold out now as i can't seem to find it ![]() Does anyone have this one: Scratching Post Soria 80 cm Beige 43551: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies it looks brilliant and is 80cm but i don't think i can afford the price, but might if anyone thinks 80cm would definately be better? |

Re: Scratching posts
To scratch properly cats stand on their hind legs and reach up so I would recommend something that is as tall as you can manage (as near to 1 metre as possible)
I'll go look up some links for you. http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/s...cratching_pads this page has a few cheap ones to put on your wall - that might do you in your price range.

Re: Scratching posts
Id have no hesitation in recommending this site
Indoor Scratchers --- CATSCRATCHER.COM We have the heavy duty one, its about as high as our work surfaces and i can barely lift it with two hands. The base is really stable and it doesnt move when they use it. Heres a photo of it, not the best but at least you can see it. ![]() Have a look through their website they have some basic to amazing designs Best money i have spent Clare x |

Re: Scratching posts
Thanks for the links.
Does anyone have one with the platform on top? like my second link. I was wondering if you would be able to take the top platform off if it wasn't used and just have it as a normal scratch post? |
