Yes buffie Hamish does have a clean litter tray at all times, but he does not use it. He lets us know when he needs the toilet and then comes back in. If he needs thru the night its there but he prefers to wait til the morning.

The reason why we want to keep Hamish as indoor cat is because he,s way too small and there are a lot of dangers outside.

I post on here for advice, I know the problem I have. We have two cats one who goes outside and one who,s a 5 month old kitten we don't want to go out.

Whats confusing about that.
What's confusing is your statement in a previous thread : Unless I were 100% guaranteed that my cat was safe by letting it out then I would not.

How can you guarantee that a cat is 100% safe when allowing them out? It's not possible, yet you let your cat out. THAT is confusing.

I hope that clarifies my point.

Re: Hamish wants out

Wife,s away to get a lead. so she can take him out every morning. Don't know what we are going to do when he,s bigger - will have to deal with that later-

I,am away at work early everyday so I don't know what its like, But wife says she cant stand it any longer. So a lead it is for now.
He climbs everywhere and if a window is slightly ajar he,s at it sniffing, I've no doubt if the window was open then he would prob try and get through it, and if we were not there, he could get stuck and injured or worse.

I know I advised on a previous post not to let your kitty out unless 100% safe. Even though Indie gets out I still wouldn't advise others because of the obvious dangers.

Thanks All and have a good year

Re: Hamish wants out

It is hard. WHen Archie came to us he was just a kitten and Ella was going out and he would sit on the window sill crying. You just have to take his mind of it until he is old enough, neutered and can go.

How about a harness then you can walk him round the garden although not the same as walking a dog

Our two love their harnesses, just take it slowly with the harness intro, if your unsure give us all a shout. The commando movements are hysterical until they get used to it
