tortie is a colour - black and red in her case - the tabby is the stripes and is a pattern that can overlay any colour. So she is a tortie tabby (torbie for short) - see the stripe of ginger on her head that's the bit that proves she is a tortie - you only need one red hair to be a tortie (not brown but ginger/red).
