what is it with some people? any friends that have come to visit lately all seem to hate cats one has allergies(so do i but ...) so i put marley out of the room.... the others just cant stand her coming over to them

all she wants is a stroke shes very affectionate! one friend brings her 3 year old who just spends the whole time telling me hes going to kill the cat and chases her....finally lost it and told him off last week... i told him he would not like it if me and my 3 year old son came to his house and made his dog sad .... i feel like telling them if you dont like cats dont bother coming in

really annoys me, im no dog lover but if i visit somebodys house where theres a dog i always give them a fuss or atleast dont make snarky comments

is it just me or does it hurt when people say comments like eww horrid cat, or isnt it horrible? most of them move back from her like shes almost got some sort of lepracy or shes going to take their heads off! rolleyes:

to me she is and always will be part of my family

I prefer dogs over cats. But I have a cat, and I love her. I'm never nasty to my mates cats, or cats I see in the street. It'd be like going over to a friends house, and saying "Eugh, your kid is so ugly" LOL.

All my friends know where the door is if they have a problem, so it's all good, LOL.

They come into your house. If you don't like them saying or doing something to your cat, then tell them.

You aren't the only one who gets irked by people like that.

I get more rat haters than cat haters come to mine, they go all silly, as if the rats are going to give them Black Death from being in the same airspace or magically open their cage doors & go for their jugulars

My logic has always been you don't like my pets... Tough.... You have a choice, and if you don't like them, don't come!

My Auntie is petrified of birds, she hasn't visited since I've had chickens! Mind is saying that, she's not fussed on cats or dogs either!

simplysardonic, you wouldn't happen to know why they think rats have wet/scaley tails, would you?! Really annoys me. Like people thinking snakes are slimey.

I'd be so annoyed if someone allowed their child to treat my cat that way. I am slightly concerned that he has anger towards an animal at such a young age. My not is 2 and us totally obsessed with animals, adores Thomas and treats him like part of the family. Ie if he offers me and daddy some if his fruit or biscuits he then offers Thomas too.
Its a shame this 3 year old us not being taught properly.

Id stop inviting people if I had friends like yours I think

If anyone is coming to Moggy Towers they get told straight - don't wear anything you don't want cat hair on, don't come if you don't like, or are allergic to, cats and be prepared to play and administer affection to any cat who wants it.

If none of the above suit, I'll visit them instead!

I've not had anyone come round to my house and insult my cats fortunately, but last week I met a friend's girlfriend for the first time. He told her I had just got two cats, and she proceeded to go on for at least 5 minutes about how much she hated cats and why cats were evil and should all be put down

I have a cat disliking friend who blatantly ignores our kitties, so they make even more of an effort to get up close & friendly with him, usually by showing him their bums
