Right before we scuttled out the door for family Christmas yesterday, we opened the presents for the kitties and distributed the gifts accordingly. The dogs were already packed up in the car, so the cats were able to enjoy everything unimpeded. Blake and Chaucer loved their kickers, although Chaucer dropped his in favor of one of the mice. So, I presented his kicker to Gwennie. Of all the cats, she knew we were leaving for the day and even though she's used to us coming and going for shopping and work and school, she seemed to know this was for longer and she'd been depressed all morning. I gave her a kicker--I think it smelled like it had valerian?--and she instantly started licking it like it was a kitten. So, we left her a little happier. The rest of them paid no mind to who the prezzies were for and even Ellie and Henry, who are 11, were frisking about like kittens. They loved everything, and Jezebel expecially loved the giant kicker--when we left she looked to be trying, happily, to disembowel it.

I was also pleased to get some Dreamies, but turns out they are called Temptations over here. So, they are not some fabulous and exotic product only available in the UK, which on the happy side means the babies can all have more of them whenever they want Oh, and we'll be having some of the chocolates Jenny sent too--thanks for the prezzie for me

So, thank you Manny, Molly, Jenny, and the mysterious (and I suppose that makes you quite the SS) C. Smith. All the kitties are happy as can be, and the dogs are quite jealous. When we got in last night, they immediately ran around trying to steal all the cats' fun before we could pick them up. They are such hooligans.

Even though it's the same product, I'm enjoying the thrill of opening a "foreign" package and giving my cats some treats from abroad. I'll bet the other cats in the neighborhood aren't getting such fine things.
