I really wanted a lie in today! After a busy few weeks, today was my chance to have a nice long sleep in.

My darling fur babies had other ideas....

At 5.30am Harry decided it was play time
At 6.15am (my normal get up time and cat breakfast time) Sabrina started jumped over me miaowing that it was food time
At 6.45 Sabrina gave up, but decided to kick me further over the bed to have the warm spot
At 7am Harry decided it was run up and down the stairs like a lunatic time
At 7.15 Sabrina decided that Harry game looked like fun and joined him
At 7.45 Harry decided it was time to sleep on my legs
At 8.00 Sabrina decided enough was enough and she was going to have breakfast NOW and stood on my chest miaowing into my face until I got up.

So like a good slave, I got up, fed them, sorted their litter tray and have now come back to bed.

OH has slept through it all Now lying in bed on my iPad unable to get back to sleep.

So fellow slaves, no break this Christmas if your feline friends are as hard a task master as my two!

My lot let me have a reasonable nights sleep for a change, tho' my first task today had I felt up to it, would have been to clean a pile of regurgitated food #2 cat, Fudge, had left behind the living room door overnight. Bad enough by itself at 6am, but opening the door spread it even further

Ari wakes me up twice nearly every week night so that I can give her some cuddles... but in the weekends, when I can actually wake up and have fun cuddling her, she keeps us awake from 2 a.m. playing with the blinds and trying to destroy the orchid and doesn't want cuddling at all, and I have to lure her outside the bedroom and shut the door so that we can have a bit of peace.

I think they sense that we have less adrenaline flowing and just try to get the levels back high, right?

Mine were playing hide and seek at 5.30 this morning using my duvet to hide under. I thought I would be able to get up at 7.00 but no they had other ideas so up I got at 6.00 to feed them

My two were both still asleep when I got up this morning but as soon as I got up they ran downstairs for their food (then turned their nose up at the new food so good slave that I am removed said food that was an insult to their delicate noses and gave them food they like!!!)

I am on 4 hours sleep which is actually better than two days ago!
Not only do i have to check Tilly every 2-4 hours for her diabetes, but all the others think its play time just when i turn over in my sleep.
Than Schumy just as im about to go to sleep thinks its time to scream at me to get under the duvet, if that isnt enough he screams again as he pads my face!
Then Kami wants in too and she wont just sleep under there no she MUST lick me face till im in pain!
Then Willow and Izzy wake up........and They start obsessively sucking their fleece bed really loudly then they all wake up dex and Keiko comes running and then loopy thinks oh i hear movement it must be breakfast time and comes and sticks his claws in my mouth and up my nose
this is when i hide like a child under the duvet

My OH gets a well deserved rest today. I do everything including preparing and cooking breakfast and Christmas dinner. The soup starter is homemade as is the desert. This plus all the other chores that need to be done is no great hardship to me. I actually enjoy it. It is part of my Christmas. It would just be the same any other way.
