Today I bought my beautiful Brown Burmese kitten Holly home.
She is soooooooooooo cute!
She has been hiding under the bed and has eaten a little bit !

I'll have piccies once she's settled in more

I do have to say this is untrue - out of the kittens i have had over my 200 years of life - only 2 have been very, very shy - 1 was feral and the other just that way inclined. ALL the others and that's about at least 16 have been NOT shy. It can take kitten a while to settle it is true - but Coda walked out of the carrier, whacked the dog on the nose, kissed the resident cats and jumped up onto the kids lap to play and then sleep. The way the breeder brings them does make a lot of difference.

I would agree, my Rumbles just walked into our lives , found a comfy spot & settled right in. He was only 7 weeks old but came from a busy household with 5 grandchildren in & out all day playing with the kittens.

I do hope Holly settles quickly, hope your house is'nt too busy over the xmas period as this will slow down her settling in. Can't wait for the pics

Re: Holly is finally home!

Thomas just wandered out of the carrier and plonked himself slap bang in the middle of our lives. The breeder gave him a top class upbringing so that must help but of course they are all individuals.
Best of luck with Holly

Re: Holly is finally home!

Have to say that never have any of my kittens that have gone to new homes been shy, they jump out of the box and thats it lol!

although I have bought cats that have been shy, dont know what I do different to others, but I do like it when they are as bold as brass, but ones that take work are worth it to, just spent 4weeks with alot of hard work on my ne baby, now she follows me everywhere & sits on my lap, cant ask for more

Re: Holly is finally home!

Congratulations on your new kitten
My Rosie is a shy girl but is getting a lot better, though she is almost a year old At her breeders she didn't get many visitors and the breeder is a widow with no children so Rosie wasn't introduced to the general hustle of the sort of life that we lead here.
I'm sure your little Holly will soon settle in with you and your family especially if she is can do so at her own pace and doesn't have too much extra excitement over Christmas.
Looking forward to seeing some photos soon
