Talkative

Are your cats very talkative and does the amount they 'talk' depend on breed.

Waffles is a moggie but she really meows now and I can distinguish between about eighth different meows and what they mean.

She was quite quiet when we got her so I used to get her to meow before I gave her treats and she meows so much now

She has a meow for help I'm stuck, I'm scared, I'm hungry, I want to get on your lap, don't leave me on my own, play with me, I'm following you, LET ME IN

Do they get more talkative as they get older??

Re: Talkative

Some breeds like Siamese are known to be very talkative.. however my 2 Ragdolls are aswell.. Lola is very vocal where as Alfie is only vocal when he wants feeding or a cuddle!

Think it mainly depends on the individual cat really

I have two tonks, one talks sometimes but not very much and the other is very talkative.
My moggy, though, answers almost everything I say!

Re: Talkative

I have 4 ragdoll cats here and all except one are quiet, i dont know if this is a trait of the ragdoll breed or not. but the one lad starts to chatter away as soon as you pick him up, this once something that was written on the judges critique from the supreme show last week, she said this lad is a real chatterbox lol

Re: Talkative

Being Siamese Mai Tai is very talkative!! I've got to know what most of her meows mean now though. Usually 'you're ignoring me!'
Gizmo hardly ever used to make any noise when he was younger. it wasn't until we had our previous Siamese that he learned to meow!
