Re: Stray Kittens - Help needed!

I my experiance cats are much happy in pairs. If you are out they are company for each other and they pass the time by playing together.

Re: Stray Kittens - Help needed!

I agree. I've got three kittens and they play together and when they are tired they snuggle up together in a big bundle of fur.

I've also got three older cats - Mum 14 and two of her kittens who are now 13 - and they still wash each other and sleep together.

I think kittens like feline company - keep them both

Re: Stray Kittens - Help needed!

We took in 2 strays in the summer, they were both just lovely wee things. We decided to keep them both, but unfortunately one of them recently became aggressive with the other (the boy got aggressive) and tore lumps out of his sister, the vet said that the kitten was depressed as she was off her food etc. So we had to re-home the boy a couple of weeks ago, now the little is doing great! She gets on fine with the other cats/kittens here was just her brother, shame was that they got on so well when they were tiny. Vet said it could be that they were from a feral background and its the way they are! I personally think he was starting to get attitude and the male hormones were kicking in and his sister wasnt putting out!.....anyway, he now lives with my friend along the road and he is doing great, very settled. I say keep them both, 1 cat will get very bored, especially as they have both spent time in your home together, the one left behind will be looking all over for its sibling.

Re: Stray Kittens - Help needed!

It Depends on how much time you can spend with them. If someone is at home all day then one cat is fine as they will always have companionship. But if it will be at home alone all day then two would be better. Although some think that two cats will become dependant on each other for comfort to the expense of the human owners (Not in my experience though)
