My 3 year old brother is her little friend at the moment (they're like a cheeky little double act sometimes!) but yes, we have thought about a new addition but we've only had Lexie for 2 months but a little feline friend is highly likely!

Thank you again for all the advice everyone, I really appreciate it.

If you get another kitten sooner rather than later, the introduction with Lexie will be easier as kittens tend to bond much easier and quicker when they're younger.

Just something for you to keep in mind.

Re: Letting kittens outside

Just to say the youngins will climb up your fence regardless of how safe you think it is. They are so curious at that age!

Personally, My older female siamese is able to go outdoors because she doesn't leave the garden out of her own personal preference, while I have kept my youngest an indoor cat for various reasons which I can list to you if you would like XD

It's down to personal choice and whether you're able to put in the effort of keeping a litterbox clean and giving your kitty lots of playtime (indoor cats are very, very active in my new experience of having Moth indoors). It is also completely up to you on whether you get a playmate if you're going to be out lots. I think your own instinct will play a lot in how your kitty feels and if you're already considering one then why not

In conclusion, I have no problem with keeping my youngest in and feel like he is certainly not missing out on anything. too much going on in the house. XD

Re: Letting kittens outside

If you could cat-proof your garden or part of it, your kitty could go outside and still be safe.

My posh lady Josje goes on walks with us and the other cats, and she also goes out by herself, but with her former slave, she used to go for walks on a leash. She never went out by herself, then.
Unfortunately I couldn't keep her in without locking in all my other cats, who are used to roam free. But Josje soon discovered how to slip out through the chip-operated catflap by walking very closely behind one of the cats that were allowed outside.

But I am very glad my 'baby' Gaudi, who is 7 months, hasn't discovered that trick yet. I want to keep him indoors as long as possible. The great outdoors rather scares him, and I don't mind in the least.

Yes, my main worry is her running off over the fence as they are speedy little things at the best of times!

I did some research but it's better to have advice from people who have both indoor and some outdoor cats so thank you

We'd have never bought her if she was going to be alone for most of the day but there's always at least one person in the house all the time and I must admit she is spoilt already
