Raw Food for Cats

Do you feed your cat a raw diet, If so, what do you feed and why?

Re: Raw Food for Cats

I feed raw too, mice, chicks, chicken wings, prawns, mince. It varies quite a lot.

I feed it because they love it, theres never any waste, and they like to play with the chicks and mice before they eat it

Re: Raw Food for Cats

I feed mine raw: rabbit, quail, poussin, chicken, lamb, horse (sorry ), turkey, liver, kidney, heart. Cats are carnivores ergo they eat raw meat.

Re: Raw Food for Cats

So can I literally give my cat a raw piece of chicken breast if that's what I'm cooking for tea?
Am I supposed to cut it up small or give it to him whole?
(I'm sticking with cat food as his main diet!)

Re: Raw Food for Cats

Well I gave it a go! He loved playing with the raw chicken hahahaha - didn't eat a bit of it though. So I gave him some of the cooked stuff and he loved it :-)

At least he has showed interest in the raw meat. Many cats will miss the strong smell of commercial food when first fed raw meat. As he likes the chicken cooked you could try searing ( stir frying) the meat to produce a stronger aroma. Cook the meat less and less over time till he is eating it raw.
