Re: Freckle off to the vets :(

He's passed the barium into his large intestine and they are happy with him overall, but noticed he is refusing to eat. They know he is quite scared however and think it's best for me to try him at home and if he won't eat to bring him back in. So we are getting him at 3pm and he'll be getting some nice chicken

That's a relief to know and imagine is a weight of your mind he's been given the all clear.

Hopefully being back in familiar pad shall help motivate him to eat once he feels safe and settled. Can be a little evasive to have had the procedure he did. And from recent experience, my younger kitty who loves his food, with being sick and having the Gastro went off his food completely. I felt to let him rest and in that time his appetite came back.

Is natural in our innate, to nurture we express by way of 'feeding' the ones we care for including our kitties. If the vet has not indicated there is any underlying health cause of concern for yours to not be eating, maybe is simply a matter of time and for him to come round and let you know. Hope this makes sense and is in some way helpful.

Re: Freckle off to the vets :(

Thanks but Freckle's appetite took care of everything He came home, meowing loudly in greeting all the way, sniffed his brother and then snatched the chicken straight out of my hand. He's now busy investigating the house to make sure everything is as he left it.

The vet did give him another antibiotic shot, just to tide him over the next few days but he should be back to normal very soon.

Re: Freckle off to the vets :(

He curled up, half on my lap and went to sleep for a good 20 min, so he must be really pleased to be back. He's never slept in my lap before, and its rare he sits there - much prefers to lie along the back of the couch and press into the heater while getting scratches.

Thanks for the good wishes and advice. Freckle and I are very appreciative
