Re: Big time fail

Love those carriers IndysMamma (I've got a pink and orange one for Kitty and Oscar for Xmas - I'm planning on taking off the doors and putting the comfiest catnip scented fleecy blankets in them to use as beds).

Cheaper than feliway spray (though I admit I swear by the diffusers at home) my sister uses catnip spray to get her nervous moggy to the vets. Usually he freaks going in and screams all the way in the car but she discovered that, if she sprays the carrier with catnip, he just rolls and lolls around and is easy to entice in. It's worth a try, the spray is £1.75 at our local petshop.

Re: Big time fail

Thanks for all the advice. Went out and got some Feliway spray this morning.
Have sprayed some round in the corners that she likes to hide in and also on her bed. Dora isnt helping much as she pounces on her the moment she moves, has a grumble at her then walks off

I'm supposed to be going away for a few days early January so i really dont know what i am going to do with daisy.Dora is going into a cattery but obviously as Daisy isnt vaccinated she cant go.The only thing i can think of is i leave her here, neighbour is coming in every day to pick up post ect and she is quite happy to put food down for her and make sure she has plenty of water. It will ony be two, possibly three nights i am away, and she will have the run of the house. Given that she was living on the streets day and night i wouldnt think this would be a hardship for her.Dont want to have to do that but i cant think of any alternatives at the moment.

Re: Big time fail

I know how you feel. We have a very nervous ex-stray and after just over 2 months still will occasionally come within a foot of us. She just runs and hides at the slightest thing. We've made good progress in the last week getting her to play a little bit more. It doesn't help that the kittens are quite rough and tumbley at which she swipes at them or jusr runs and hides. I can't imagine how we would get her in a box currently, or even just get flea/worm stuff on her neck. I hoping by the time she needs her vaccinations in May we'll have made more progress. To her credit, she is much more confident than she was at first so eventually she let us take care of her properly...we hope! I think at the moment I'd pay the vet extra to come to the house and do some vet magic on her.
