Re: Going on holiday tomorrow - will my kitties forget me?
In my experience cats never forget who you are but tend to get a bit sulky and give you the cold shoulder treatment on your return. Don't be surprised if they turn their backs on you
It only lasts a short while but then back to their normal selves. |

Ah yes, I've heard about the cold shoulder treatment from friends - hope it doesn't last too long. Will bring them some treats from Florida - I'm learning very quickly that bribery works wonders with kitties

Re: Going on holiday tomorrow - will my kitties forget me?
I've only left Dinah and Monty for weekends before. The first couple of times they were totally normal when we got back (me and my OH) but last weekend I went away without my OH and she stayed at home to look after them. She said they were totally different when I wasn't there and VERY clingy! Maybe with just me being away, and them not being with their usual catsitter (our neighbour) they thought I'd died or something.
They are more intelligent than they let on sometimes. They were all over me when I got back and it was lovely. I am SURE they won't forget you!!!

Re: Going on holiday tomorrow - will my kitties forget me?
They will either pretend not to know you, or they will show you all the affection in the world.....
My rainbow cat Tuppence would slip out through the cat flap when she heard us return from holiday, and would stay out for at least 6 to 12 hours. So I always made sure to run straight in and intercept her on her wy out. She would sulk for a bit, but then her joy at seeing me would take over, and she'd give me heaps of cuddles. Even now I have one cat who sulks....... Some of my cats, on the other hand, will come running to greet us and don't react miffy at all.
