"Extra Special" Cats

We've had many threads of late for various types of cats - ginger / white/ black / black & white/ Tabbies etc..... and I think the time has come to dedicate one to those extra special cats who go through each day dealing with a disability. Some disabilities are visible and some are not. Either way, they are all deserving of their own special thread.

So, piccies please of those cats whose day to day lives are just a bit harder, or need a bit more effort, than the others.

To start it all off, here is Oscar - 'winking' at all the beautiful ladies on Cat Chat...

He was having issues with his eye earlier this year (for newer members) and we became concerned about some discolouration on the iris. We opted to have the eye removed and were VERY glad we had when tests showed that a very rare type of cancerous tumour had started to grow inside it.

Re: "Extra Special" Cats

awww bless the little man.
Its amazing how animals cope with losing an eye. I had a horse once who lost his eye in an accident and he just dealt with it. Still went on to be Champion Show jumper and Eventer.

Minnii has quite bad HCM - we could lose her at any point - she has already outlived the predictions by nearly a year. We feel blessed for each extra day we have with her - even though she is often moody, grumpy and very, very bossy!P1050243.jpg

she looks so content, is evident she is especially loved and extremely well cared for, what is it they say,

"Life is not measured by the breaths you take, it is measured by the moments that take your breath away"

With this in mind, every moment Madam Min has with you outweighs the time she has left.

When I see a cat or dog with just 3 legs I just marvel as to how well they cope.
