Princess had stitches out but keeps licking the wound

she has just had the last of her stitches out and she just keeps licking it and she has removed the scabs but it looks pretty red does anyone know a way or something to stop her licking it

A 'lampshade' guard maybe. or cover the wound with something?

What about asking the vet if you can have one of those cones to stop her from licking the wound.

Thank you the vet said the wound should be strong enough now as its been 2 weeks and they have only just taken the e collar off

If it looks red is it still sore? Maybe your vet couldtake a look to put your mind a rest.....Oh Hell I'm having sasha my GSD Spayed tomorrow it's the op itself AND The Aftercare that I'm Dreading

What could i cover the wound with it looks like its red where she has removed the scabs and that was my main worry after she has been really good for 2 weeks and they only took the stitches out and hour ago

It Sounds silly but I have known people to put Small Baby Vests on Cats and small Dogs the one's with ''popper fastenings'' that fasten between the legs.

Cut a hole for the Tail of course

They fit pretty tightly across the wound and acess is not easy for licking

Wish they did Big ones to fit Sasha.

I'm not sure I guess if you know the signs when they need a poo you could undo to it I suppose they would have the odd wee on the vest.
