Thumbs up Litter Mats

Further to recent discussions on litter tracking & good mats to minimise this, someone suggested deep pile chenile bath mats.

Well, whilst mooching around Sainsburys the other day, I noticed they were doing a selection of them half price at £5:

Tu Shaggy Chenille Bath Mat White - Bath mats - Bath linen - Bathroom - Home & garden - Sainsbury’s

I picked up a couple to try. I cut one in half and placed under each litter tray.

Well....... what a difference!!!!!!!!! These catch SO much more litter - the pile is REALLY long - than the normal plastic ones I had been using and they look nicer in the bathroom!!!! There is still some tracking but much, much less than before. Buying 2 means I have spares for when they need to be washed.

Just letting folks know that these rugs are going cheap, in various colours, if they fancy trying them out. You would pay £5 for a plastic mat, but with these, you get 2 mats for a fiver!!! Or, in my case, 4 rugs for a tenner!!!

Oh, and the cats rather like them too!!!! Much softer on their wee sweet pawsies than the nasty hard plastic stuff!!!!

Re: Litter Mats

Great idea

I still haven't managed to afford a Modkat and litter tracking is still driving me nuts so I might give this a try - cheers MB.

Re: Litter Mats

I think it was me who suggested this to someone else on another thread. They're absolutely fab at catching tracking litter, and even for putting under food bowls. Have a look in pound shops too as you can usually get 'em cheap there too.

Then I thank you from the bottom of my heart Carly for your suggestion- they have made quite a difference.

I won't repeat what the OH said though when HE saw them..................... (before I had a chance to explain why I had gotten them!)

Re: Litter Mats

I usually switch off before I bring anything new into the house... It's easier that way.
