Sore eye?

Mollie has had a bit of a falling out with Salem and has been scratched in the eye, anything I can do to make her a bit more comfy as she can barely open her eye, would you suggest getting the vet out? Thanks

Re: Sore eye?

Defo get her to the vet I'd say. Eyes are so precious.
He'll probably to a dye check to make sure no damage and give you some antibiotic drops to keep away any infection

Re: Sore eye?

Full agreement with jo-pop.Eyes are fragile things and can be permanently damaged.Hope this is just a minor injury, but I wouldnt want to risk it.A call to your vet for advice just to be safe.

Re: Sore eye?

I am so glad you called the vet as my boy lost his eye a couple of years ago and this was even with seeing the vet asap, this was a scratch too, although I have to say that the vet said he was just really unlucky and they really fought hard to save it, just unfortunate really. Hope Mollie is ok, I'm sure she will be Please let us know how she gets on.

Re: Sore eye?

Good luck with the vets. My sister's cat (Sammy, he's big, white and beautiful) developed a very nasty abscess around his eye after being scratched in a fight with a neighbours cat. He came very close to having (seriously expensive) specialist surgery in Birmingham but, luckily, started to show signs of improvent with meds just in time. My sister left it for just 36 hours after noticing it because Sammy is a very nervous traveller and she didn't want to upset him - she says she'd never do that again.
