If it helps at all I don't regret getting another cat but if I'm honest I wish I'd have got a kitten! The intro period would have been far easier and that is the only reason because I see Oscar on a daily basis wanting to play all day long with Rosie! Because she's a rescue and has been a breeding queen I believe she would have been far better suited to a female cat family!
I love her to bits and wouldn't change things now, she is part of our family but if I could go back in time I'd have a kitten for the reasons stated! I think you won't regret it with getting a baby, my probs ( if you can call them that) are because of Rosie's background Oscar loves her and has done from day one, unfortunately she doesn't feel the same way about him
Maybe a new kitten is the answer for both Oscar and Rosie? A playmate for Oscar and Rosie gets left alone - that's how it works here and it works perfectly

This was my one big concern, Molly was the perfect cat .... she was playful, affectionate, loving, clean .... everything you could ask for! Why the hell would I want to upset such a harmonious household!!

But then a thread on here caught my eye, Manny needed a home and if ever I had wanted another cat he would have been it. I joined in the banter, everyone was saying 'go on you know you want him' and in the back of my mind I knew I did! But in the front of my mind was Molly .... how could I do this to her? What if she changed? what if they hated each other? what if the new one wasn't as 'perfect' as Molly? So many questions!!

It was a very tough decision, I wont pretend otherwise ..... but I knew I had to take the risk

So enter Manny ..... it wasn't easy! He was 4 months old, Molly was 14 months old. Him, being a baby, took it all in his stride, he would of cuddled up to Molly the minute he walked in the door given half the chance Molly on the other hand thought 'what the hell!!!!' She went very quiet, she hid away, she didnt come for cuddles ..... in other words a completely different cat!

But it didnt last long!! Molly is almost back to normal, and Manny is such a joy to have around .... he is our 'perfect' little man in relation to our 'perfect' little girl

What I'm trying to say I suppose is, if in your heart you feel you really want another cat ..... and you are prepared for the highs and the lows ..... then go for it

I could never convince my hubby to have another and if I'm totally honest I really wouldn't want 3 cats! 2 is enough for me, My house isn't small but it's not big enough for 3, if I lived in the countryside or a mansion then that would be a very different story lol! But at the moment I'm happy with the two I never thought my hubs would agree to Rosie tbh! Well I think he was more pushed into it lol!

£98 for injections that is a major rip off, they should cost half of that!! just goes to show that you have to shop around, neuiering can be as little as free, and easily from £20-100, you need to look around, those prices are well over priced

Dont get me wrong, there is no such a thing as one cat better than other.. Rescue or Pedigree etc.. But when we went for British shorthair we always had in mind that we gonna have second cat pretty soon. We always said Ragdoll, but if there was chance to get another BSH we wouldnt say no..
When I found out our "old" breeder had one available cat I sent her a message straight away.. This kitty meant to be a stud boy for a couple abroad but there has been changes in circumstances. He was only due to start his course on the 24th for rabies. She didnt vaccinated him at all, this is why she is reducing price by £40 (which means kitty would be £350).
I was kind of hoping she would sell me him as £300 - as there was no vaccs and as Im an old customer..
I wouldnt take him without the vacs, they will cost you £50 to do anyway and you cant let him near your other kitten until they are done, so best she does them, plus if shes registered she has to before they go, depends how old he is and if she does discounts for previous kitten buyers, some do some dont! awww you sure you dont want a raggie...those lovely big blue eyes...

Nonoononono - that's £98 for injections, neutering and microchip - pretty much the best price I've seen (in this area anyway)

I think youre right.. As much as I loved this little kitty I will have to wait til we save enough money, be prepared properly, get Charlie "done"..
But I dont wanna wait to long, I still want Charlie to be a kitten (or at least very young adult lol). If we wait, we will probably wait til mid of next year and will probably get a Ragdoll as that's the breed we wanted at first.. ohhh tough lol
