Cat allergy issues

Hello all,

I've finally been thinking about getting my first cat in my new flat but have no idea on which cats i'm allergic to. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to my allergy attacks as it's sometimes a hit or a miss on whether or not it affects me.

Anyone else had this problem?

Re: Cat allergy issues

When you say it's 'hit & miss' do you mean that it only happens around some cats but not others?

Are these cats that belong to friends & family?

Re: Cat allergy issues

It's both friends and families cats. By hit or miss I mean the same cat might cause me to sneeze, get blocked up & eyes water some of the time but then the next time I can be completely fine. Its quite puzzling

Re: Cat allergy issues

with an allergy as mild as that - constant exposure is likely to reduce it to nothing/minor dryness in the eyes

piriton is a good over counter remedy to take one a day and keep the allergy at bay

also regular vacuuming and brushing the cat to maintain a healthy coat help too
