Re: Pet Insurance

The trouble is even if you insure your cat straight away you'll have to leave it pulling its fur out for two weeks before taking it to a vet and even then the vet may have to admit that there is no way the cat had not had the condition in the weeks previous, they can see how long symptoms have been in place in many cases

Correction just spoke to BBM and thae de gloving is when it stips the skin, so disregard what I sad, could be stress, fleas allergy or other alergic response, and to deny treatment to an animal is against the law,

Re: Pet Insurance

The definitive answer is - whatever the policy says. It depends on the company as to what they do. It's usually 2 weeks for illness but immediate for accident.

Depends on the time lapse between not re-insuring and insuring again as to whether they'll treat it as a continuation. Most companies will accept a break of about 4-5 weeks.

However, if it's an obvious long term condition the vet will ask how long it's been like that and that will go on the claim form so it will possibly be counted as a pre-existing condition. And, as has been pointed out, you have a legal obligation to seek treatment as soon as possible.
