Re: grass for indoors cats?

I think I'll go for the spider plant instead. If he doesn't eat it, at least I'll have a nice looking plant

Re: grass for indoors cats?

I've been growing cat grass continuously for nearly a year now. Ari took some time to understand what to do with that but now she can't live without it (I don't know if it's a coincidence but her consistant grass eating habits coincided with her better formed poos. Fibre is good, right?).

I plant a new batch weekly so I always have fresh ones and I find really easy to keep, and as long as we have them fresh she will leave my other plants alone.
I got the refill pack from zooplus and I plant in different vases (one little round glass vase, a cachepot, the bowls from the Activity Fun Board). I put a 5mm layer of the seeds+vermiculite (as they come in the pack) and spray water on them daily together with the other grown grass (Ari loves to lick the water off the grass in the morning). I leave by the kitchen window and after a couple of days they sprout and after a week they're ready to nom. Also, I have one vase out in the balcony that's been living on and strong for months now (Ari's been keeping it short and tidy. No other maintenance needed).

Re: grass for indoors cats?

But why do they need to eat grass? My mum says it's something to do with stopping hairballs
