Radiator Bed for Heavy Cats

The cats deserve a present so I was going to treat them both to a radiator bed seeing as laying in the warmth is their favourite pastime lately.

Winnie is quite lightweight but poor Basil has 'heavy bones' & is quite a big cat. What sort would be best for him? I don't want himjumping in to one & having it fall down with him in it

Re: Radiator Bed for Heavy Cats

I can recommend the canac ones (they also do replacement/spare hammock covers). I guess it comes down to how well secured your radiators are to the wall I often have two cats in one - so that can be nearly 12kg of cats in one hammock

Re: Radiator Bed for Heavy Cats

I bought this one from the "Zoo" Great deals on cat radiator beds at zooplus: Radiator Bed Yumi
If Meeko was to use it I'm sure it would be ideal for both his size and weight, but he preferrs human beds and couch's ect.

Re: Radiator Bed for Heavy Cats

I was looking at the Trixie Delux one on Zooplus (I have to be so disciplined with that site as I can spend a fortune!!)

The radiators are very secure, I just was concerned about poor Basils weight in one & how long the hooks were as I would hate for him to fall out - he's such a clumsy boy at the best of times

I've just measured from the bend in the back of the hook to the end ,and it is 4 inches(10cms).My radiator has fins at the back of it and the hook slides down them which does make it very secure. It is a bit of a faff though, as the hooks can be rotated to fit different width radiators.

Re: Radiator Bed for Heavy Cats

We had our from Pets @ Home and have never had problems.

Our two like to use it as a trampoline and it's still in one piece after 4 and a half years
