I found Heather after a visit to the Maine Coon Cat Club show in July 2010. They list breeders on their website and it's worth contacting some locally and further afield - get to know the breeder a bit and visit where the cats are manufactured (joke!); No, seriously, get to know the breeder and their adult cats, see how they live and make the effort if you can travel to meet your potential kittens often before you get the home. You may have to go on a waiting list if you want a specific gender or colour.

I skipped one litter where only girls were available as I wanted at least one boy, and then ended up with three. And I love them.

thats a great idea! thanks! i think hubby would really love the silver tabby colour though i dont really mind aslong as we have a big ball of fluff to snuggle x

Our pair are 2 and 3 years old, and still getting bigger every month! Also make a very outdoor savvy breed if you have the right environment for them.

Old photo's but still show them off well I think.

they are stunning! i love the colour. the indoor space isnt a problem our house is pretty large and our marley is allowed in all rooms im not sure about outdoors were not rural we live in a small town... our cat rarely goes out but we do have a nice sized back garden... one thing that would worry me is if somebody were to pinch our kitty xxx
