Re: Anyones cat Had a mid-line spay?

Poor little thing
I am sorry but I would be fuming. Not giving her pain relief is an act of cruelty on your vets behalf.
I would be inclined to phone an emergency vet to get some pain relief tonight and pass the bill on to the vet.

Re: Anyones cat Had a mid-line spay?

The thing is we got it done at the PDSA and didn't have to pay to get it done as they didn't think they were going to find anything but i am fuming they must do so many that they would realise she would need something, she has eaten, had a wee and had a drink and gone back to sleep with one of my boys keeping a close loving eye on her well as close as he can get to her but am going to phone first thing in the morning and make sure i get something for her.

Re: Anyones cat Had a mid-line spay?

Hello Hayley.
How is your little one this morning?
The PDSA should have given her a pain killer that is a slow release. They get donations from the public and so i am sure a lot of people who give would be shocked to know that they are speying females without giving them proper after care. You might like to add that in when you ring them.

Hope she is a lot better today. x

Re: Anyones cat Had a mid-line spay?

How is puss?
Our baby had a midline spay with her hernia corrected along the way.
We had no painkillers (RSPCA voucher) either but nor did she show symptoms of being unsettled or unhappy.
Hope she's more settled today and you've spoken to thevet.

Re: Anyones cat Had a mid-line spay?

Thank you everyone didn't end up phoning as she was pretty much back to her self yesterday the only thing is she is not keen at all on having the collar on and managed to get it off once so had to put a proper collar on her to keep it on as they tied it on with bandage. I think She was so tired as she had no sleep for nearly 2 days but got to take her back on Tuesday and I think she was unsettled due to having the collar on as she kept getting stuck but I think she's getting used to it, she's a cat who like to have control of everything she does.

So glad she is feeling better.
When mine little one was speyed last year she didn' have a collar and she never bothered with her stitches.
