Re: Starter essentials for a kitten!?

Hello there

1. Cat tree / post
2. Litter tray & Litter
3. Food
4. Toys, and lots of them. I reccomend the pop up play cubes from Ebay, little mice, ping pong balls and a Da Bird!
5. Flea / wormer meds if not done already.
6. Get them registered at your vet
5. Lots of love & cuddles and patience!!

There.....that should be fine for now

You might want to get nappy bags if you are going to poop-a-scoop your litter tray. Also, baby wipes - they can come in very handy if your little one gets in a mess

Good Luck to you

Re: Starter essentials for a kitten!?

If you know where you are getting her from already, then I would get a blanket (fleece ones are good, easy wash and dry and lovely and warm) and give it to her breeder so it gets a familiar smell on it, so when she comes home with you with the blanket, it will provide a bit of comfort. You will also need a good sturdy easy to clean cat carrier to collect her and for trips to the vet/cattery etc.

Ceramic or stainless steel feeding bowls are better than plastic, and the same for water bowls.

Also check with the breeder what litter and food the kitten is currently used to and purchase the same. If later you want to make a change do it gradually, adding the new to the old in ever increasing proportions.

Its exciting getting a new kitten

How annoying. It took Waffles a long time to 'find' her beds when we first got her but she loves them now. I think they just try a few different spots. Is his bed in a nice warm location? I moved Waffles night time bed closer to the radiator and she loves it now.
